Guide

Where to place wedding photo QR codes so guests actually scan them.

A QR code works best when guests see it at a natural pause. Put it near moments where phones are already out, people are waiting, or someone can remind the room what it is for.

Best placements

Use at least three physical placements.

The best baseline is welcome table, reception tables, and bar. That covers arrival, dinner, and the casual parts of the night when candid photos happen.

  • *Welcome table: early scans.
  • *Reception tables: repeated visibility.
  • *Bar: natural pause with phones nearby.

Secondary placements

Add the QR to anything guests already hold.

Programs, menus, hotel welcome cards, and itinerary inserts can carry the QR without adding clutter to the room.

  • *Ceremony program block.
  • *Menu footer.
  • *Welcome bag card.
  • *After-party sign.

Announcements

A spoken reminder is often better than another sign.

Ask the DJ, planner, officiant, or wedding party to say what the QR is for. A ten-second reminder can make the sign feel intentional instead of decorative.

  • *Mention no app required.
  • *Ask for photos and short videos.
  • *Give the room a reason: help us see what we missed.

Testing

Scan the printed sign in the actual venue lighting if possible.

Low light, glossy paper, and tiny codes can hurt scanning. Test the final print with a real phone before the event starts.

  • *Use enough contrast.
  • *Keep the QR large.
  • *Include the short link as backup.
Questions

Answers before you make the QR.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. Gooya opens in the phone browser from one QR code. Guests can use the camera or their library without installing an app, making an account, or remembering a password.

Can guests see everyone else's uploads?

No. Gooya is write-only for guests by default. They send their own memory, see that it landed, and return to the event. The private gallery belongs to the host.

Can the host download everything?

Yes. The host can download the visible memories in one ZIP, including the original photo and video files Gooya stores for the event.
