Gooya is the guest camera your guests already have in their pocket. One QR code, no app install, no account: on iPhone, a full page load in Safari offers an App Clip, a piece of the app that runs without an App Store install; on Android, and in any in-app browser, the same camera opens in the browser. Nobody is asked to become a user.
The dial
The iPhone App Clip opens on a dial of cameras, not a shutter button. Reaction comes first: the dual camera films a guest's face and what they are watching, in one clip, so the toast and the person hearing it arrive together. Faces and Faces Video put masks, freckles, glitter and emoji bursts on a face before the shot. Reel films up to a minute. Boom loops six seconds back and forth. Rewind plays six seconds backwards. Video and Photo are there for the moments that need nothing added.
Every photo and film can take a film look before it is sent: Soft Glow, Clean, Warm, Cool, Vintage, B&W, Vivid, Moody, Kodak, Super 8 or Flicker. A timer, a torch and a date stamp sit on the same screen. Guests can also add from their own library, and a film with no sound is sent as a silent film rather than refused.
None of this asks a guest to install anything. It is offered when the QR opens in Safari on an iPhone that has two cameras that can run at once; older iPhones and Android phones get the same private album through the browser camera.
From that one code a guest sends photos, short films and voice notes. Voice notes are the part most hosts do not expect and most keep: the spoken message from the person who would never write in a guest book. Film filters and boomerang are there too.
The iPhone App Clip adds two cameras the browser cannot give. The dual camera takes the front and the back in one shot, so the moment and the face watching it arrive together. The Reaction camera films a guest while they watch a memory. Everything lands in the host's private album, and the host can download it.
