The company behind Gooya.
After The Message is the Los Angeles company behind Gooya, the no-app QR guest camera for weddings and events. Guests scan one QR code, a camera opens in about two seconds, and their photos, short videos and voice messages land in the host's private gallery.
Why it exists
Gooya is built and run by a solo founder in Los Angeles. After The Message started from a simple observation: at every wedding, party and gathering, the people in the room are already holding the cameras — and almost everything they capture disappears into separate camera rolls and buried group chats the next morning.
The company's first product was a vintage rotary phone that records spoken messages at events. Gooya grew from the same conviction: the most meaningful record of a day comes from the people who were in it — their photos, their short videos, and their voices — gathered in one private place the host actually keeps.
At a recent wedding, 16 guests added 86 photos and videos in one night, from one QR code, with nothing to install and no accounts to create.
What Gooya does
- *One QR code per event — guests scan it and a camera opens in their browser. No app download, no account.
- *Guests capture photos, short videos with film filters, and voice messages, or upload from their camera roll.
- *Everything lands in a private host gallery. Guests are write-only and never see each other's uploads.
- *The host controls the reveal, can hide any item, and can download every original in one ZIP.
Hosts run events from the web at gooya.app or the Gooya app for iPhone on the App Store. Guests never need either — the QR code is the whole experience.
Where we stand on privacy
Event memories are personal, so the position is simple: galleries are private to the host, guests are write-only, and your media is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
