An event's album stays open for a window that starts when the event ends: one week on a free event, 3 months on The Event, 1 year on The Keepsake. A Vault subscription keeps every album of yours open for as long as you hold it.
Past that window the album locks — it does not empty. The files are kept and the host unlocks the album to open it again. Nothing is deleted at the end of a window.
The detail
- The clock starts when the event's capture window closes, not when you made the event. An event you set up in March for a wedding in September is not eating its window in the meantime.
- Inside the window the album is fully readable and the host is shown the date it runs to, rather than being surprised by it.
- Once locked, the host's own line still reads that their copy is kept. Locking is a door, not a deletion.
- A private album — the kind with a link and a PIN and no event behind it — is different: it is kept for 7 days counted from the day you made it.
- The host can download everything at any point while the album is open: one zip of every visible memory, streamed straight from storage.
